Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Every year Green Meadow Independent Primary School takes part in the famous Macmillan coffee morning by eating lots to raise lotsand helping to raise money for charity. All the parents and children are invited to come into school hall and help raise money for Macmillan by having a cup of tea of coffee and having a slice or two of yummy cake. This year the parents were invited to join in with a parent ‘bake off’. All the parents happy joined in with this and presented some very yummy and amazing cakes for the teachers to taste and vote which one they liked the best. This year’s winner who won the title of Head Baker was one of our Reception Class parents, who won with a traditional and very yummy Victoria sponge cake.
“The sponge was nice and soft all the way through” Mrs Seddon Teaching Assistant
Parents were invited to come along and help support this cause. The children were able to spend a short time in the hall with their parents to also enjoy a slice of cake. If any of our parents were unable to attend, the children joined in with the teachers and enjoyed a morning of helping to sell cakes as well as tasting too. Thank you to everyone who baked, bought, donated and came along together this years Macmillan Coffee morning we raised £143.60.
